A structure represents the will or dream of the owner. It reflects the very soul of its creator or designer. It is the role of the executor to mold the ideas of the designer into substance so that the dream of the owner is fulfilled.

Once built, the structure has to serve the purpose it was constructed for. It has to be executed not only elaborately and artistically but faithfully and conscientiously.

The task involves outstanding attributes of integrity, perseverance and adherence to strict schedules and deadlines.

With these principles, our company has been guided in the past years, and abiding by the same we intend to operate throughout all our work in the years ahead.

We have firm belief in first class workmanship and have living examples on that.

Maurice G. Salem (1936 – 1973)

Salem Brothers was co-founded in 1963 and classified as a Grade A construction company by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Works, and for projects above US$20M by the Lebanese Council for Development and Reconstruction. Since its establishment, the company has undertaken on itself best quality construction within tight time schedules. This performance helped the company jump from a building construction firm to a heavy construction company, where it proved competitive in civil works for oil refineries, natural gas refineries, power plants, substations and underwater structures. Other works were also executed by the company such as oil pipelines and suburban roads with all public utilities connected to them.

In 1989, Tamani was co-founded by Salem Brothers in Abu Dhabi and has successfully executed dozens of residential, commercial, infrastructure, institutional and public services projects throughout the United Arab Emirates. Its present classification as third grade contractor has been established in completing numerous turnkey projects involving civil, MEP, and interior design works.

Future outlook remains to keep improving its performance to accommodate future trends and technologies in the MENA region and to enlarge its domain of activities.

Tamani implements a state-of-the-art project management system to enhance project outcome for its clients and to ensure that processes are harmonised and consistently applied.

With the end result in mind, Tamani plans for different functions early on in the project lifecycle. Clients and consultants are provided with the outcome – be it related to design flaws, value engineering, workability issues, compliance with legal and other regulatory requirements or related to the approach Tamani plans to devise for the execution to reduce potential mishaps and rework. This collaboration is maintained from tendering stage and continues throughout commissioning.

The corporate principle in achieving each project quality plan is the ability to couple the expertise of our competent staff with requirements from project stakeholders to carry out tasks within optimal standards.

From humanitarian and professional perspectives, safety is a primary value to construction. Tamani strives to attain zero accidents on its projects.

Certified officers are aware of safe construction practice and coach workers and employees through specific programs, awareness training and toolbox talks. All operations are carried out in accordance with local, international and client-specific health and safety requirements. Risks are assessed prior to main activities, procedures are set to instruct employees on safe work methods, execution is monitored to ensure proper implementation and the operation is audited to verify system effectiveness.

Based on daily site records, the management is continually improving on the health and safety management system by revising procedures and using adequate safety gear, the latest safety equipment and measuring devices to prevent incidents.

It is recognized that all injuries are preventable; Tamani ensures that all employees are made aware of the hazardous construction environment and severe summer weather in the UAE prior to commencing any activity. Workers are conscious of their safety and feel more productive in doing so. Accordingly, as less time is lost to accidents, safe work practice pays off to the company and its clients.
